VELVET
in V-ray for 3D's Max
VELVET MATERIAL IS ONE OF THE MOST DIFFICULT MATERIALS TO REPRODUCE. IT IS A WOVEN, TUFTED FABRIC IN WHICH THE CUT THREADS ARE EVENLY DISTRIBUTED, WITH A SHORT PILE, GIVING IT A DISTINCTIVE SOFT FEEL THAT IS HARD TO REPRODUCE IN VRAY. 

I INVESTIGATED AND EXPERIMENTED WITH DIFFERENT METHODS TO FIND THE BEST WAY TO CREATE REALISTIC MATERIAL IN VRAY.
AFTER A LONG WAY OF COMPARING, RENDERING, AND PAIN IN MY ASS, I FOUND THAT VRAYFAKEFRESNELTEX AND VRAYCURVATURE TEXTURES WORK BEST. THEIR COMBINATION GIVES FANTASTIC RESULTS.
